Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State will lead a cast of government officials to receive the festival torch for the 2nd Niger Delta Games.
The Festival Torch is expected to arrive in Yenagoa, the State capital, on Saturday, February 14th, 2026.
Incidentally, the event coincides with the 6th Anniversary of the Governor since he took the mantle of leadership in the State on February 14th, 2020.
Governor Diri would be accompanied by the Commissioner for Sports, Daniel Igali and the Director of the State Sports Council, Andrew Aye, to receive the torch on Saturday morning.

Chairman/CEO of Dunamis Icon Limited, project consultant of the Niger Delta Games, Chief Itiako Ikpokpo, is also expected to lead the organisers to the occasion.
Ikpokpo said the fiesta would further unite the people of the Niger Delta region and provide a platform for the discovery of future sporting stars from the area.
The 2nd edition of the Niger Delta Games is expected to start on February 20, 2026, though the arrival of the participating teams is on February 19, 2026.
The closing ceremony is due to hold on February 26.
The Games is the first regional sports festival in the country.
