The return match of the International Skate Soccer Fiesta played by physically-challenged athletes from Nigeria and Ghana will take place at the Agege Stadium in Lagos Nigeria on Saturday, December 9.
The competition, which is organised by the IFSS (International Federation for Skate Soccer) is being co-sponsored by Afriglobal Group of Companies as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
IFSS, who are supported across the continent by Binatone, have organised this match that will evoke the age-old soccer rivalry between the two West African countries.
The event has garnered support from top businesses that are excited to sponsor it. The sport and the non-profit IFSS were created to bring together the physically-challenged, with a core focus on Polio
sufferers who have no ability to walk, who usually beg for alms. The benefit that IFSS hopes to bring to these individuals is food, shelter and help in finding a steady job.
Mr Maneesh Garg, Group CEO/MD of the match sponsor, Afriglobal group, agrees that the skate soccer is indeed a worthy cause which will produce lasting impact in the lives of the participants and in turn produce meaningful societal impact.
Ms Juliet Anammah, CEO Jumia Nigeria, in her remarks stated that Jumia has been supporting the promotion of skate soccer in both Ghana and Nigeria.
