Fans of the Super Eagles of Nigeria have remained unimpressed with the team’s performance despite recording an important 1-0 win over Guinea Bissau on Monday.
Nantes winger Moses Simon scored the solitary goal after full-back Bright Osayi-Samuel was fouled in Guinea Bissau’s 18-yard box.
The win sees the Super Eagles of Nigeria reclaim top spot in Group A in the 2023 AFCON qualifying stages.
Following the win, fans took to social media to lament the lackluster display by the Nigerians. Coach Jose Peseiro and forwards Samuel Chukwueze and Victor Osimhen came in for criticism from the fans.
Here are some reactions gathered by Sporting Tribune
@ShehuSani The Super Eagles that once conquered Brazil is now Struggling with Guinea Bissau,…Bissau…Bissau of all countries.
@biolakazeem What’s most perplexing about Chukwueze is that it is clear he has so much potential yet struggles with the basics & makes shocking choices in good positions. His form is so inconsistent & games for the Super Eagles seem to be the ones he chooses not to be on great form.

@Morris_Monye No communication whatsoever in this Super Eagles team. Disjointed.
@ELEGBETE1SPORTS I never thought the day would come when professional footballers would not know what it means to cross a ball with precision. These are things we used to brag about that I can find you with a pass in the market square. Super Eagles wide players don’t know how to cross or cut back
@topensyy I don’t understand why the NFF feels paseiro is the solution to the super eagles problem. Osimhen had another below-par performance. Simon Moses cross as if the ball is a stone. We don’t have midfielders. chukwueze should be playing 15 minutes. Ahmed Musa in 2023??
@akeem_rotimi Osimhen didn’t want no injury. He was so careful in the two games Super Eagles played. That was not the Osimhen I know. But I understand sha We need a proper coach to develop a team that can compete with the world’s best. We have the players!
