Leeds United Football Club has announced the signing of an 18-year-old Nigerian defender who plays as a centre-back from Remo Stars on a contract running 2026/27.
The announcement was made on Tuesday via the club’s website and social media pages, with agreement to join the club’s academy, where he will be closely monitored as he adapts to English football.
Despite being a youngster, the defender has already gained valuable first-team experience, making seven appearances across all competitions for the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Remo Stars, during the current campaign.

He also earned his debut for Nigeria last year in a game against Senegal, before going on to register another appearance against Sudan, showing his rapid rise and growing reputation across international football matches.
Via the statement released, the club expressed delight at completing the deal and welcomed the youngster as he begins a new chapter in his career at Leeds United FC.
This move signals the development of Nigerian football as another Nigerian talent enters the European stage. Leeds United, on their part, continue to strengthen their youth ranks ahead of future campaigns.
