The Super Eagles of Nigeria defeated Iran 2-1 in an international friendly match held on Friday in Antalya, Turkey.
Moses Simon and Akor Adams scored for Nigeria, while Mehdi Taremi pulled one back for Iran.
The Nigerian Head coach, Eric Chelle, named a strong starting lineup for the encounter, with Maduka Okoye returning between the sticks. The defensive pairing featured Semi Ajayi and Igoh Ogbu, while captain Wilfred Ndidi anchored the midfield alongside Fulham star Alex Iwobi.

In attack, an exciting front line of Ademola Lookman, Moses Simon, Samuel Chukwueze, and Akor Adams was deployed.
The Super Eagles stormed ahead in just 5 minutes, with Simon scoring after a quick break. He took a pass from Chukwueze, cut inside, and slammed the ball into the net, leaving the Iranian goalkeeper stunned.
The Super Eagles maintained their attacking momentum and nearly doubled their advantage midway through the first half when a slick passing sequence carved open Iran’s defense, allowing Chukwueze to slip in Adams, whose effort from a tight angle narrowly missed the target, hitting the side netting.
Chelle made some changes at halftime, giving Emmanuel Fernandez his debut. Nigeria scored again early in the second half, with Lookman’s pass setting up Adams for a calm finish, making it 2-0.
However, the win provides a confidence boost for the Super Eagles ahead of their next friendly against Jordan on Tuesday.
