NNL AGM approves 2024/2025 league format, schedule

The 15th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Nigeria National League (NNL), held on Saturday in Bauchi approved the 2023/2024 league table as presented by the secretariat of the NNL.

In a communique issued at the end of the AGM, after reviewing the amendments to the framework rules and regulations adopted the amended NNL rules and regulation as a legal working document for the 2024/2025 Season.

The AGM also resolved that in the 2024/2025 league season, a monthly award shall be given to the best goalkeeper, best coach, most valuable player, best goal scorers and best behaved team.

That only prostar/NNL branded balls and NNL bibs shall be allowed in NNL matches in the 2024/2025 league season just as also a monthly award shall be given to the best performing referee.

The NNL AGM agreed that only stadia that meets the required NNL stadium facilities criteria shall be approved for the 2024/2025 league season.

The AGM agreed a four conference of 36 clubs format of nine teams each for the 2024/2025 new season.

The NNL AGM also approved Saturday 30th November, 2024 as the kick-off date for the 2024/2025 NNL league season with a star match only, however, other match day one league matches are to be played a week later.

The meeting approved and adopted the 2023/2024 financial report as presented by the League external auditor, as well as the 2024/2025 league budget as presented by the league board.

The AGM approved the election of the new executive NNL Club Owners and Managers Association (NALCOMA), with Godwin Enakhena as the new NALCOMA President.

The AGM approved the election of Boniface Alozie Uche of Abia Comet FC as one of the representatives of the club owners in the board of the NNL.

The NNL AGM passed a vote of explicit confidence on the board of the NNL led by George Aluo for successfully repositioning the league and bringing serenity to the league’s operations.

The NNL appreciated the Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed and the good people of the state, for electing to host the AGM and for their great hospitality.

The AGM in no small measure appreciated the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) under Ibrahim Musa Gusau for providing excellent leadership and unfettered ground for NNL to thrive.

The communiqué drafting committee was made up of Yakubu Sarma -Chairman, Dr.Ayo Abdulrahaman -Member, Ismail Hamze- Member and Amar Ignis – Secretary.

Meanwhile, Wikki Tourists Fc have been drawn in Group D to face next door neighbors Gombe United in the opening game cracker at the Pantami Stadium,Gombe.
