The last game of the NNL24 season between EFCC and Wikki Tourists played on Saturday at area 3 ground in Abuja produced 6 goals with Wikki Tourists scoring 4 but that was not enough for the club to qualify for Super Eight.
The Tourists were hoping for a loss by Nasarawa United in Zamfara however the game ended 1-1 which gave Nasarawa United the Super Eight ticket.
Reacting to the game in a post-match chat with journalists, WikkiTourists FC Coach, Azeez Audu Mohammed said that it was disheartening to lose at this point.
He, however, quickly added that it was pre-destined by Allah and appealed for calm from all quarters.
According to him, “Everybody has done his best, from the commissioner, management, technical crew, players and other backroom staff to ensure that we gained promotion this season but our efforts have not yielded the desired result.
“We should therefore remember that this is our destiny and we should accept it in good faith.”
The coach assured that the team is going back to the drawing board and correcting all mistakes next season.
Meanwhile, Wikki Tourists FC captain, Idris Mohammed Guda has tendered an unreserved apology to the Supporters of the Club for failing to grab the NNL Super Eight ticket.

According to him, “We will never give up believing that one day God will make us proud by granting our wish,” Guda said.
He urged the supporters of the club to consider what happened as the will of God as they have also done the same and continue to pray for the team.
