Liverpool striker, Alexander Isak, has undergone surgery after sustaining a leg injury on Saturday.
The club confirmed that Isak has picked up a fractured fibula after the surgery. Isak’s foot got caught between Mark Van de Ven’s leg as the Tottenham defender dived to block his shot.
“Alexander Isak today successfully underwent surgery on the injury he sustained on Saturday,” Liverpool said.
“After diagnosis, an operation was completed today on an ankle injury that included a fibula fracture. No time frame (is) yet placed on his return.”
In September, Liverpool signed Alexander Isak for 125 million pounds from Newcastle United after the Swedish international made it clear he wanted to leave.
Since joining Liverpool, he has struggled to score more than 2 goals in 10 appearances. Isak Injury posed a major setback for Liverpool as they are also without their all-time highest goalscorer, Mohamed Salah, who is on AFCON duty with Egypt.
