Nigeria’s Head coach, Gernot Rohr, believes he has a glut of talent to choose from as he prepares the Super Eagles for Russia 2018 World Cup.
With Argentina, Croatia and Iceland as World Cup group opponents, Nigeria have been searching for the right formula to earn a second round ticket.
”It is too early to say but we have a lot to do before the first game against Croatia,” Rohr told TV5.
”For me and the crew, we are eager to get going, we have a young and talented team and that gives me a great joy from my standpoint. If we are called to play any match, I have the assurance that I have no problem with the Super Eagles, they are that reliable-win or lose. We may not have Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo but we are balanced with what we have and it is easy working with such an interesting group.
Rohr also added that Africa have come a long way and expects all the five teams from the continent to do well in Russia.
”I have spent a lot of years in Africa and I can say there is a lot of optimism going to Russia. Great things are happening with Morocco in recent years, Senegalese players are outstanding, Tunisia and Egypt are also doing well and have cause for hope”.
