NPFL: 3SC GM, Dimeji Lawal, frowns at team’s poor run

Irked by their unimpressive form lately, the General Manager of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), Dimeji Lawal, has read the riot act to the team’s players, charging them to brace up and approach the task before them with utmost seriousness and commitment.

Apparently dissatisfied with the recent performance of some of the players, Kabongo as the ex-international is fondly called, addressed the players after Sunday’s 0-2 loss to Akwa United in Uyo, where he frowned at the attitude of some of them and therefore demanded high level commitment.

“Guys we need to tell ourselves the truth, this is not the kind of team (Akwa United) that should be defeating us, but we just fell into their hands.

“In the past few games, some of you have not been putting in your best to justify the efforts of the Technical Adviser and the coaching crew as well as the management.

“We have raised the hope of our people and when they are already believing in us, we are letting them down.

“All these things can be attributed to the attitude of some of you and I want to advise you to brace up and let’s do this with the utmost seriousness.

“The management is disappointed with the level of commitment of some of you. You know I’m always on the ground to monitor your training and I see what these men (coaches) put up, I see their efforts every day, but it is disappointing that you guys don’t bring to play all they teach you on the field,” the 3SC GM said.

Continuing, he said the club’s management would not hesitate to take action to address the situation.

“The management, which is also putting in all efforts to make you feel comfortable will not fold its arms and watch our dreams slip off just like that, just because of the lack of commitment of some of you.

“At this point, we will be forced to take drastic decisions if the team fails to get back to winning ways immediately and I’m charging you all to make this happen from the next game,” he declared.
