NPFL: Edo dep gov, Dudu-Orumen charge Insurance to beat Remo Stars

Basking in the euphoria of their recent qualification for the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), Bendel Insurance FC of Benin, have charged to to go for victory as the team begin their premier league campaign against Remo Stars FC on Sunday in Ijebu Ode.

The deputy governor of Edo State, Rt Honourable Philip Shaibu accompanied by the state Sports Commission Chairman, Barrister Godwin Dudu-Orumen, gave the charge when he visited the Benin Arsenals during morning training session as usual to give them words of encouragement at the University of Benin sports complex, Benin City.

Shaibu hereby congratulated the insurers and tasked them on winning their first game of the new season.

“Let me congratulate you again on the Super 8 success and return to the premier league. Now everybody is talking about Bendel Insurance because you have done well. I urge you to continue with the form you displayed at the Super 8 in Aba.

“Also, have it in mind that we can finish top in the NPFL after which super six will follow. As you begin the season on Sunday with a win over Remo Stars away from home, then come back home prepare to beat the next opponent.

“We must continue with the Super 8 winning mentality and for that to be possible, we must continue to play as a team. You guys are good and do not allow any intimidation, but believe in yourselves and you can win anywhere. Government is always ready to do its part, so do yours by winning every game,” he said.

Speaking earlier, Orumen who commended the deputy Governor for his commitment to the well-being of Insurance, urged the players to give their best against Remo Stars on Sunday.

“The deputy Governor is solidly behind you. I have not seen anybody so committed to any project like this. So, I urge you to reciprocate by playing well and winning. Be focused and have it at the back of your mind that no team is better than you in the premier league,” Orumen said.

Responding, Technical Manager of Bendel Insurance FC, Monday Odigie thanked the deputy Governor and the sports commission chairman for their unwavering commitment to the well-being of the club.
