Impressed by the performance of the state-owned Wikki Tourists FC so far in the ongoing football season, Governor Bala Muhammed has reassured his support to the club in its efforts to return to the elite league of the country next football season.
The Governor gave the assurance disclosed when he granted an audience to the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the club and other agencies of the Ministry of Youths and Sports led by the Commissioner Ministry of Youths and Sports, Mohammed Salis Gamawa on a congratulatory visit over his re-election victory at the Supreme Court recently.
He said that Wikki Tourists FC has remained one of his top priorities areas and will continue to remain so.
The Governor commended the performance of the Club so far in the Nigeria National League and vowed to ensure that it gained promotion back to the premier league.
Earlier in his address, the Commissioner of Youths and Sports Mohammed Salis Gamawa said the visit was to Congratulate the Governor on his recent victory at the Supreme Court.
Salis Gamawa said that his Ministry will forever remain grateful to the Governor for his unwavering support for its programmes assuring to justify the confidence reposed in them.
A member of the Interim Management Committee, Umar Saidu in a brief remarks, expressed gratitude to the Governor for making Wikki Tourists FC one of his priorities.
Team Captain, Mohammed Idris Guda while congratulating the Governor on his recent victory at the Supreme Court pledged the players’ commitment to work harder until the target is achieved.
The delegation for the visit includes the management committee, technical crew, players and supporters club.
