NPFL: We have to strengthen Sunshine Stars ―ODSFA boss

Chairman, Ondo State Football Agency, Otunba Tajudeen Akinyemi has emphasised the need to beef up Sunshine Stars FC so as to make a meaningful impact at the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

Akinyemi made the admonition while speaking with Tribunesport at the Akure Township Stadium, after the Owena Waves defeated Rivers United 2-0 in a match day 4 NPFL fixture.

He pointed out that Sunshine Stars wasted a lot of scoring chances during the match adding that the team must be strengthened to meet the challenges ahead.

“In asmuch as I want to commend the players and the entire team for the victory over Rivers United, I still believe we need to recruit an attacking midfielder and a prolific striker. This is necessary because we need to maximise our scoring chances. As you saw in the match, we missed so many chances and this can affect our standing at the end of the day. So, there is the need to do the needful and this we shall do as soon as possible so that we can contest for top shot on the league table,” Akinyemi said.
