NPFL: Wikki Tourists will beat Niger Tornadoes, coach Adamu boasts

WIkki Tourists Football Club’s Chief Coach, Abdullahi Adamu, says he is confident his players will win their MatchDay 1 fixture against Niger Tornadoes in the 2022/2023 Nigeria Professional Football league (NPFL).

Adamu confidently stated in Bauchi that his team would beat visiting the Tornadoes of Minna in the Group B encounter on Sunday, January 15, 2023.

He said he was confident of victory in view of the calibre of players in his team, as well as their performance in all friendly matches played ahead of the 2022/2023 NPFL.

“The calibre of players I have in the team is good. A very fantastic set of players. Very good players,” the coach said

Adamu pointed out that the result of their friendly with Plateau United on Sunday at the new Jos stadium was a reflection of what should be expected in the new season.

“The team’s 0-0 draw with Plateau United was good, even though it was not the result we planned for. But we are happy with it.

“What we planned was to come and win, but it’s still not bad and it has given us an insight into what our supporters should expect in the coming season,” he said.

The coach commended his players for playing to instructions and their determination to win.

Adamu also said the postponement of some of the MatchDay 1 fixtures would give an opportunity to the players to further fine-tune their preparations.

Wikki Tourists FC had beaten Plateau United 4-1 in Bauchi on Jan. 1 in the first leg of the friendly game, before drawing goalless in the second leg.
