NPFL: Wikki’ll leave Owerri as tourists ―Ubido

Heartland captain and defensive midfielder, Julius Ubido has said his side will turn back visiting side Wikki Tourists empty-handed when both sides clash tomorrow.

The Naze Millionaires host the Bauchi Elephants in a Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match day 9 fixture at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.

“Wikki Tourists are actually in Owerri for tourism just to admire the beauty of the city as they will be turned back empty-handed.

“We have broken the bad luck that saw us producing poor results on our home ground and the jinx is broken forever.

“No team will get a point from us anymore on our home ground, the ground is now a fortress against visiting teams.

“Wikki Tourists should now make up their minds to look for away points elsewhere not in Owerri.

“We know they will come out strongly to chance eking a point but we will not afford them the luxury.

“We played two straight away matches at Niger Tornadoes and FC IfeanyiUbah and got three points which is not a bad result.

“Three points is not negotiable against visiting side, Wikki Tourists as we need the points to further shore up our position on the league log.

“I feel sad over my unavailability for the clash, I know there is reason for everything that happens.

“I wanted to take part in the game to oversee the defeat of Wikki Tourists.

“However, I have charged my teammates to rise to the occasion to defeat Wikki Tourists for my sake.

“I believe strongly that we will claim the whole three points at stake in the encounter,” Ubido told supersport.com.

The Owerri outfit are 13th on the 20-team top-flight log on 10 points, six behind league leaders Akwa United.
