The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Borno State Council, has named Ismail Abdurahim Alfa as chairman of the caretaker committee of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN).
The appointment, ratified during the State Executive Council meeting of September 9, 2024, acknowledges Alfa’s unwavering dedication, expertise, and commitment to sports journalism.
In a statement issued on Friday, NUJ Borno Secretary, Chiroma Ali Ibrahim, noted: “Alfa’s selection is a testament to his unshakeable passion for sports journalism.
“We have confidence in his ability to provide effective leadership, promote excellence, and foster a vibrant sports journalism community in Borno.”
Ibrahim further stated, “As chairman, Alfa is expected to uphold the highest ethical standards, collaborate with members, and contribute to the growth and development of sports reporting in the state.”
The appointment reinforces the NUJ’s commitment to enhancing members’ skills and promoting journalistic excellence.
