On-loan Arsenal midfielder Kelechi Nwakali will almost certainly not remain at Dutch second-tier club MVV Maastricht beyond this season, his brother and advisor, Allwell Nwakali has revealed.
The Nigeria U20 international is on loan at Maastricht after completing a move to Arsenal last year, due to his failure to secure a UK work permit, but it appears the 18-year old is keen to feature for the Gunners, and his brother has confirmed he would speak with the midfielder’s representative to know the way forward.
‘’I don’t think Kelechi will remain at Maastricht, I will have a meeting with his intermediary soon to know the way forward,’’ said Allwell Nwakali to allnigeriasoccer.com.
“For now, it doesn’t appear he is remaining with Maastricht. As soon as the league finishes his contract with them has ended. We will now look at other options though nothing has been discussed with Arsenal yet.”
‘’The best thing for Arsenal to do is to get him a work permit, so that even though they are taking him on loan he has the permit. But he has the qualities to play for Arsenal in midfield.”
