Nwosu recovering, lauds Dare, Imo, Delta

Recuperating former Super Eagles captain, Henry Nwosu, has hailed Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr Sunday Dare, the Imo State and Delta State governments for their benevolence shown him so far.

Nwosu spoke through his younger sister, Mrs Mary-Kate Kogolo-nee Nwosu, when the delegation of the Imo State Football Legend visited him at the Asaba Specialist Hospital, Delta State, last weekend.

According to his sister, Nwosu was full of joy over the sensitivity demonstrated by Dare concerning his plight which he said has lifted him, adding that apart from visiting him in the hospital, the Minister has always called to know his medical condition.

Nwosu who is also the President of Imo Football Legend equally commended the Imo State government for its support through the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Honourable Dan Ogu.

The 1980 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) winner also lauded the Delta State government through the State’s Commissioner for Health and the Secretary to the Delta State government for their quick intervention.

He said both the Imo and Delta State governments offered him financial support which enabled him to offset some of his hospital bills.

Nwosu while thanking members of the Imo Football Legend, singled out some of his friends including Tijjani Babangida, Etta Egbe, and Austin Eguavoen, for not only creating time to visit him in hospital but also for their financial help.

The former Golden Eaglets coach admits that he is gradually recovering from sickness, as he promised that he would be out of the hospital soon to rejoin his friends and family members.

Speaking during their visit, Vice President of Imo Football Legend, Comrade Casmir Mbachu prayed for the quick recovery of Nwosu, adding that members of the Legend Club are equally worried over the condition of their President.
