Team Edo has continued to harvest more medals in the ongoing National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State as the state on Monday won three gold and one silver medals in the scrabble and gymnastics contests respectively.
The feat has brought to 10 the total medals won as of Tuesday afternoon by Team Edo in the youth sports festival.
Nwanbuzor Joy of Edo in the single scrabble female category overcame all opposition to pick the Gold medal
The little Joy won all her 10 rounds to edge out the highly-rated Sophia Ekeruche of Lagos State who took home the silver medal, while Chukwuemeka Victory of Anambra State won the bronze medal.
In the gymnastics events, the duo of master Solomon Aliu and Excel Ocheke picked gold and silver medals respectively for Edo in the floor exercise.
Team Edo also emerged top to cart home the gold medal in the gymnastics team gold event for males.
In track and field events, the duo of Ogemuni Success and Anita Enaruna Itohan, representing Edo in the female category have qualified for the semi-final in the 100m female race, while Onosetale Oforoh qualified for the semi-finals in the male category.
