The organisers of the maiden edition of N-Youth League Cup (NYLC) U-19 have invited the 60 best players for the mid-season talent invitational showcase.
The invited players are to report to Abuja on January 5, 2025.
The talent showcase will run from January 9th to 12th at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja and will rounded off by an exhibition match between NYLC All-Stars and Abia Warriors on January 12th.
NYLC President, Robinson Adakosa, said that the 60 players are selected based on performance and analytics data from Wyscout.
“Training will begin on the 6th of January on a daily basis with three days of training slated for the players before displaying their talents in the Showcase Game with the players divided into four groups.
“The Showcase Game 1 will hold on January 9th. The Showcase Game 2 will take place on January 10th while Showcase Game 3 will hold on January 11th,” Adakosa said.
A breakdown of the list shows that AS Roma has seven invited players namely Usoro Augustine, Greg Odubu, Amobi Chidiebere, Valentine Chidera, David Nelson, Uchechukwu Ibeh and Temioluwa Odetunde.
The trio of Kano Pillars, Sunshine Stars of Akure and Atlantic Business of Lagos boast of four players each. While Adamu Ibrahim, Abdullahi Haruna, Mustapha Muhammad and Umar Muhammad will all fly the flag of Kano Pillars, Mathew Samuel, Yakubu Shuaibu, Favour Ayobamidele and Nurudeen Khali will represent Sunshine Stars of Akure.
Atlantic Business FC will parade the likes of Moyosore Onikoyi, Dimeji Paul, Ledogo Wisdom and Oworo Sabitu and Enyimba FC of Aba will be represented by Samuel Okechukwu, Eze Mathew and Chinedu Nathan.
Abuja-based Mailantarki Care FC will parade Abdul Samatat, Adamu Yahaya and Miko Dauha so also is Legacy Stars FC of Abuja with Francis Miracle, Mathias Mallel John and Sadiq Salihu. Two players each will represent Mighty Jets of Jos, ABS of Ilorin, Kwara United FC, Plateau United FC, Plateau Jets FC, Abia Warriors FC and Bucknor FC.
The NYLC which is a U-19 league is on ha alfway break with Kano Pillars and Sunshine of Akure leading the table in their respective Conferences.
