Enugu Rangers striker, Godwin Obaje, marked his 100th Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) goal as the Flying Antelopes secured a 1-0 away win over Warri Wolves in a rescheduled fixture on Wednesday.
Obaje scored the only goal of the match in Ozoro, with his decisive strike also taking Rangers to the top of the NPFL table.
The goal was Obaje’s 35th for Rangers and made him the third player in the history of the Nigerian top flight to reach 100 NPFL goals.
He joins former Dolphins of Port Harcourt striker Victor Ezeji and Kano Pillars veteran Rabiu Ali in the exclusive group of players to have reached the milestone.
Obaje’s century has been built across five NPFL clubs. He scored 25 goals for Wikki Tourists, 16 for the defunct FC Ifeanyi Ubah, one for Plateau United, 23 for Abia Warriors and 35 for Rangers.
The striker began his professional career with Wikki Tourists and went on to become the NPFL’s top scorer in 2016, when he scored 18 goals.
He also had spells outside Nigeria, featuring for clubs in Slovakia, Tunisia, Ethiopia and Oman, before returning to the domestic league.
Obaje’s latest goal completed his century and added another landmark to a career that has made him one of the most prolific scorers in the NPFL.
