Nigeria’s sensational freestyle wrestler, Blessing Oborududu, has claimed an 11th consecutive African title.
The Bayelsa State-born amazon on Saturday beat her opponent in the final of the women’s 68kg event of the ongoing African Wrestling Championships held in El Jadida, Morocco.
The 2020 Tokyo Olympics silver medallist won her five bouts without giving up a point – four pins and one technical superiority win.

Oborududu reacting to her victory in Morocco through the social media succinctly writes: “Thank you Lord, it can only be God.”
Meanwhile, the Nigerian three male wrestlers in the squad will take to the mat today in search of honours in the continental championship.
The Nigerian team made up of 13 wrestlers, is being handled by the duo of Purity Akuh and Victor Kodei – a 14-time African champion.
