Back to cast my eyes over the next round of fixtures in the Premier League, having missed out on last week’s fixtures. So who is going to come out on top this weekend?
Here are my predictions…
WEST HAM V BRIGHTON
Both are level on points accumulated so far in this campaign on the log, but, with West Ham coming good of recent, I just expect them to be a shoulder above their opponent after this game on Friday – with a win. Brighton have showed they are not good travellers; as they have only collected one point on the road so far.
MY PREDICTION: West Ham 1-0 Brighton
CHELSEA V WATFORD
Chelsea have failed to win in their last two league games; losing both games to Crystal Palace and Man City respectively. Add their 3-3 draw against Roma in the Champions League, and that’s three games on the trot without a win.
Things might not change yet for the Blues who would come against a Watford side that haven’t lost on the road in the league(winning all but one). And they visit Chelsea on the back of a win against Arsenal, which would further boost their confidence ahead of this game. However, I think Chelsea would prove their class and get a win here.
MY PREDICTION: Chelsea 2-1 Watford
HUDDERSFIELD V MANUTD
You look at how United played at Liverpool last week and at Benfica on Wednesday, and you just don’t feel they can really rival Man City to the title this season. They look short in confidence at Benfica in contrast to the side that played with so much swagger and scored four against Palace, CSKA and Everton. And this is the sort of game they can actually get their groove back on – as Huddersfield are really dip in form at the moment.
MY PREDICTION: Huddersfield 0-2 Man Utd
MAN CITY V BURNLEY
Though Burnley have picked points at difficult grounds like Anfield, Wembley and Stamford Bridge, you just can’t fancy them getting anything here against City; who are scoring goals – left, right and center right now. Pep Guardiola and his men will have too much for Burnley. Though I don’t expect them to score seven again this weekend against Sean Dyche’s men.
MY PREDICTION: Man City 3-1 Burnley
NEWCASTLE V CRYSTAL PALACE
I watched Palace against Chelsea last weekend, and I was really impressed with the football they played, and not just the result at the end of the game. They were matching Chelsea at all fronts, for a side that has previously failed to score in the league . And it’s only a matter of time before things starts to reflect on the log – if they build on that display against Chelsea.
Newcastle are also playing well and getting good results, and you have to give them credit for that. Before the Chelsea game, I’d will this to Newcastle easily. But this is now going to be difficult for both sides.
MY PREDICTION: Newcastle 2-2 Crystal Palace
STOKE V BOURNEMOUTH
Stoke City would be looking to bounce back from that humiliating 7-2 defeat at City in this game. And they should; against a Bournemouth side that have lost all their away fixtures so far in the league. It’s a straight win for Stoke playing at home in this one.
MY PREDICTION: Stoke 2-1 Bournemouth
SWANSEA V LEICESTER
Leicester got rid of their manager Craig Shakespeare after enduring a poor start to their campaign, and the interim boss Michael Appleton will demand an extraordinary showing from his players at Swansea.
Swansea have just been good enough to get themselves around mid-table position – with just two wins so far in the league. I expect this to be difficult for both sides, though. But something inside of me is giving Leicester a win here.
MY PREDICTION: Swansea 1-2 Leicester
SOUTHAMPTON V WEST BROM
Southampton haven’t really impressed so far in the season, as they can do better. However, I don’t expect West Brom to win in this one. They might probably play well to earn themselves a point at the St. Mary’s – which is what am giving them.
MY PREDICTION: Southampton 1-1 West Brom
EVERTON V ARSENAL
Both sides are struggling at the moment, and this game will serve as an opportunity to kick-start a revival to both teams. Everton’s problem is up front; where they seem to lack that goal-getter after failing to adequately replace Romelu Lukaku. They have the midfield to conjure something glittering, but just need that poacher up front to help turn their 0-0 into 1-0 and their 1-1 into 2-1. But they will have to wait until January to get one, so I just fancy an Arsenal win here.
MY PREDICTION: Everton 1-2 Arsenal
SPURS V LIVERPOOL
Ultimately the game of the week. And it’s a game you just can’t afford to miss out on. As both sides designed to attack, attempts to get the bragging rights over the other.
Normally, Liverpool thrive in this sort of games. But with Harry Kane scoring goals for fun at the moment, it would be difficult to separate any of this sides. I just see this ending in stalemate. Despite the fact, Spurs haven’t really settled at Wembley.
MY PREDICTION: Spurs 2-2 Liverpool
