Liverpool legend Jordan Henderson has left the club as he is set to move to the Saudi Pro League in a deal worth £12m plus add ons.
He posted on his Instagram account this evening saying: “Just know, I will always be a Red, until the day I die.” Henderson captained Liverpool to their first premier league title in 30 years in 2020.
After 12 years and 492 appearances for the Reds, he bids farewell to the club. The move has raised lots of questions on whether the midfielder will still continue to be selected by Gareth Southgate. Although Southgate has not completely given him indications on whether he will continue to play for the England Squad, he has not completely frozen him out.
Henderson will now link up with former Liverpool captain and legend Steven Gerrard, who is now manager at Al Ettifaq. Henderson has also lifted the FA Cup, League Cup, Champions League, Super Cup and Club World Cup during his time with the Reds.
He joined Liverpool from Sunderland in a deal worth £20m and has made 492 appearance with 33 goals and 52 appearances for the club.
