Kyle Walker has joined City from Tottenham.
Kyle Walker has joined Manchester City from Tottenham on a five-year deal for a fee which has remained undisclosed but is thought to be worth over £50 million.
The right-back, who will wear the number 2 shirt, follows the footsteps of Bernardo Silva and Ederson in becoming the Citizens’ third signing this summer.
‘I am thrilled to be signing for City and can’t wait to get started’, the player said.
‘Pep Guardiola is one of the most respected managers in the world and I feel he can help me take my game to a new level’.
Txiki Begiristain, the Manchester City’s Director of Football, added: ‘Kyle is a fine full-back, one capable of producing quality at both ends of the pitch’.
‘We’ve followed his progress at Tottenham and have been really impressed by how he has developed. He is now one of the best right-backs in the Premier League and justifiably an England regular’.
‘I am sure he will be a success at Manchester City this season and beyond’, Beguiristain said of the defender, who has been capped 27 times for England.
A club statement read: ‘Everyone at Manchester City would like to wish Kyle the best of luck as he begins the next stage of his career here at the Etihad Stadium’.
