The Ogun State Commissioner for Sports Development, Hon Wasiu Isiaka, has disclosed that the state government would build more facilities at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena after the 2024 Gateway Games.
Isiaka stated this while addressing newsmen covering the 22nd edition of the National Sports Festival, at the media center in Abeokuta, that the construction of more facilities was borne out of the administration’s desire to groom young talents in the state.

He explained that government had decided to utilized the vast land in the sports arena to discover young talents discovered from across the state with world class facilities that would prime them into becoming champions.
Isiaka explained that the vast land would be divided into three facilities which would cover sporting needs, entertainment needs as well as relaxation outlets.
The commissioner said the facilities when completed would attract people from all walks of life to the stadium thereby keeping it in regular use, while assuring that no stone would be left unturned to ensure that Ogun State took its rightful place in Nigeria’s sports circle.
