Olakunle Olalere on Saturday successfully defended the Elizabeth Wuraola Ojo Memorial Golf Tournament (EWOMGT) title he won last year.
The 18-year-old golfer finished with a Gross score of 78 on a countback ahead of Ojuolape T. who played 78 Gross in the 1-day tournament played at the Smokin Hills Golf Resort, Ilara Mokin, Ondo State to go home with the tournament’s star prize for the second year running.
Olalere, a member of Smokin Hills who bagged Elizade University scholarship award last year lauded the commitment of the sponsor, Chief Michael Ade-Ojo OON.

The invitational golf event has become a recurring feature in the diary of events of Toyota (Nigeria) Limited that has been sponsoring consistently for 16 years, with the objective of management is to preserve the memory of the late Elizabeth Wuraola Ojo with all she lived for.
Aminu K. from Ilorin Golf Club won the Best Gross prize with 77 Gross while Balogun Afolabi claimed the Nearest To The Pin prize.
A member of Ekiti Golf Club, Grace Yusuf won the Ladies Category star prize ahead of John D. as Olowokere RO. emerged the second runner up, while Sade Ajala from Ibadan Golf Club won the Best Gross also in the ladies category.

Meanwhile, chairman of Toyota (Nigeria), and the founder of the Elizabeth University, Ade Ojo thanked the participants for featuring in the tournament, as he promised a better tournament next year saying, “This tournament keeps better every year and come next year, the 17th edition would witness more glamour than this year.”
