Olatunde retains UCH golf title

Former caddy Master at Tiger Golf Club, Wasiu Olatunde last weekend emerged winner of the 3rd University College Hospital (UCH) Health Workers golf tournament held at the Ibadan Golf Club (IGC).

Olatunde, 17 handicap, retained the trophy he won last year when he played 70 Net in the one day tournament which was attended by a number of golfers across the country.

“I’m just happy for retaining the trophy back-to-back because I promise my new wife something precious and thank God I won this 3rd UCH Health Workers golf tournament.

“I need to appreciate Professor Temitope Alonge for giving me and my colleagues the opportunity to work with him. We would always make him proud anyday anytime,” an elated Olatunde said.

Meanwhile, Captain of IGC, Barrister Idowu Salami, commended the management of UCH for supporting golf.

Salami stated that IGC is happy that the UCH tournament has taken a permanent place in the annual golfing calendar of IGC. He also appealed to other UCH workers to embrace golf and take the opportunity of corporate membership of the club.

“Regular exercise is vital to healthy living and your {UCH management} choice of golf as a sport to keep fit and healthy is commendable,” he stated.

In his remarks, Alonge said they are not relenting in sourcing for avenues to re-unite the fractured relationship between the management and healthcare workers.

“I am persuaded that we need to do this to remove attention from ourselves as healthcare providers and focus on the patients, just as we concentrate on every shot as we go through the various holes which symbolise life,” he stated.
