Olopade, Dare, Gusau, others to attend NNL monthly award in Abuja

The Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Bukola Olopade, former sports minister and presidential aide, Sunday Dare; Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Ibrahim Musa Gusau; NFF General Secretary Dr Mohammed Sanusi; the Director General of the National Institute for Sports (NIS), Comrade Philip Shaibu and others will on Tuesday in Abuja, grace the November edition of the NNL/PROSTAR International/SPORTLIGHT Hub Monthly Award, an event designed to celebrate the Nigeria National League (NNL).

Outstanding performances from players, coaches and match officials during the period under review will be rewarded at the event. Crown FC of Ogbomosho forward, Michael Adegbite, emerged as the Highest Goal Scorer and will also be crowned the Most Valuable Player (MVP) for the month.

Abdulwahab Jibrin of the Katsina Referees Council will receive the award for Best Referee, while the Best Goalkeeper accolade goes to Majayogbe Muyiwa of Crown FC of Ogbomosho. The Best Coach award will be presented to Najeeb Mabo of Doma FC of Doma.

The Best Goal award was won by Ogonyi Matthew Okpahe of Doma United FC, for his impressive strike in the Match Day 3 encounter between Doma United FC and ABS FC. Mighty Jets of Jos were named the Best Behaved Team for their exemplary conduct during the period under review.

Organisers have assured stakeholders of a colourful and well-coordinated ceremony as the NNL/PROSTAR INT’L/SPORTLIGHT Hub Monthly Award continues to spotlight talent, professionalism and discipline in Nigeria’s second-tier football league.
