Onikute: Most teams don’t know Remo Stars

Newly promoted Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Remo Stars are to take full advantage of the unknown factor.

The NPFL debutants who are referred to as the Sky Blue Stars are set to unleash some surprise package when the NPFL 2016/17 season set sail.

According to Remo Stars secretary, Michael Onikute, the NPFL debutant who are participating in the Gold Cup preseason tournament have shown positive improvement.

“I have seen an improvement from the first game against Crown FC and in the second game against Enyimba. Going forward we’ve got a lot of pace and skills but we just need to add more steel at the back,” Onikute told Goal.

“We’ve played a couple of friendly games but they have been against non league sides but now at the Gold Cup we are engaging ourselves with teams playing in a professional league.

“It’s the same advantage for every new team going into the league, the unknown factor. Most teams don’t know the threat we possess and that will be key alongside team spirit.”
