Oscar confirms Chelsea exit is “90 per cent” certain as he nears £60m Chinese Super League move

The Brazilian is out of favour at Stamford Bridge under Antonio Conte and Villas-Boas is ready to launch a blockbuster move to take him to Shanghai SIPG

Chelsea midfielder Oscar has confirmed his stunning £60million move to the Chinese Super League is “90 per cent” certain.

Former Blues boss Andre Villas Boas, now in charge of Shanghai SiPG, has sanctioned the record-breaking swoop for the 25-year-old after the Brazilian fell out of favour at Stamford Bridge.

And when quizzed on his impending exit Oscar confirmed the deal is all but done.

“It’s 90 per cent certain,” he told SporTV . “It just depends on a few bureaucratic details.”

Antonio Conte’s Chelsea side have been in sensational form over the past two and a half months, storming to the top of the Premier League with nine wins out of nine and just two goals conceded.

Oscar has not started a match since the 2-1 home defeat to Liverpool on September 16.

He is understood to be open to the move and would become the second Chelsea player to move to China in the last 12 months after his fellow Brazilian Ramires joined Jiangsu Suning last January.

Chelsea are ready to accept the cash for Oscar as they believe it is an offer too good to refuse for a player unable to get into their team.

Oscar was signed for just £25million four years ago from Brazilian club International. He is now on course to beat David Luiz’s record as the most expensive player ever to leave Chelsea.

Luiz set the record two years ago with his £40million move to Paris Saint Germain.

It is not the first time that a Chinese Super League club has tried to sign Oscar. Another ex-Chelsea boss, Luiz Felipe Scolari, made a move to land him last summer for Guangzhou Evergrande and remains interested.

But AVB is understood to be in pole position to prise the player away from Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea could replace Oscar with Genoa’s Diego Laxalt.

The player’s agent claims Conte has scouted the player.
