Super Eagles and Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen, has been nominated alongside 29 others for the 2023 Ballon d’Or.
The 30-player nomination list for the award handed out by French magazine France Football was revealed Wednesday.
The Nigerian forward was nominated following his starling performance last season which saw him scoring 26 goals for Napoli and leading the Italian side to their first league title in more than 3 decades.
Osimhen’s nomination means he will now compete with the likes of Argentina and Inter Miami forward, Lionel Messi and Manchester City star, Erling Harland for the highly coveted football award.
The Ballon d’Or event is scheduled to take place at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris, France on October 30, during which the recipients of the Ballon d’Or 2023 will be unveiled.
