Osimhen wins Sportsman of the year award in Turkey

Nigeria and Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen has been announced as the 2025 Sportsman of the Year in Turkey after his stellar performance for Galatasaray.

Osimhen went home with the individual accolade at the 2025 GQ Türkiye Men of the Year Awards.

The Nigerian goal poacher was instrumental to Galatasaray’s domestic success last season, registering 37 goals and seven assists across all competitions to help the club secure the league title.

Osimhen has scored 11 times in 14 outings across all competitions for the Yellow and Reds in the current campaign, with 6 goals in the Champions League. He expressed his gratitude to the organisers of the award, the club, and the supporters after receiving the award.

The award is an annual event held by the Turkish edition of GQ Magazine, a leading international men’s fashion and lifestyle publication, which recognises outstanding achievers in different fields, including sports, music, and film.
