THE Nigerian Tribune football team, Imalefalafia Bombers continued their winning streak in the ongoing Oyo SWAN/Nairabet Week football competition, as they defeated their counterparts from Fresh FM 8-5 at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan.
The Radio Boys tried as much as possible to come back to the game, but were unable to stop the reigning SWAN soccer champions from winning the 13-goal thriller.
Fans were kept on the edge of their seats while the match lasted as both sides put up their best in their bid to carry the day.
The Imalefalafia Bombers dominated the better part of the game though the spectators preferred to root for the Fresh FM team.
Speaking shortly after the game, Captain of Fresh FM football team, Samson Akindele, said that being his team’s first game of the tournament, there was the need for them to play more as a team.
“This is our first game of the tournament and I believe we can not use this to test our true strength. We still need to play more together and study ourselves to bring out the best. I am sure our fans will see a lot of improvement when we take on the Information Chapel on Friday (Today)”.
The Editor, Nigerian Tribune, Alhaji Debo Abdulai, commended the Imalefalafia Bombers for winning their second game of the tournament with a urge not to relent in subsequent games. He therefore, promised that the team will be motivated to help defend the title they won in the last edition.
In the other game of the day, Splash FM beat Naija FM 4-3.
Meanwhile, Fresh FM would take on Information Chapel in the first game, While The Nigerian Tribune would trade tackles with Naija FM in the second game of the day.
