Ozil claims Emery wants him out

Mesut Ozil has sent a defiant message to the Arsenal fans amid claims Unai Emery wants to sell him this January.

The German World Cup winner hasn’t played for the Gunners since Boxing Day, and was left out of Arsenal’s squad completely for this weekend’s defeat by West Ham.

Ozil is Arsenal’s best-paid player but he doesn’t appear to feature at the centre of Emery’s plans in what is a difficult time for the club financially.

Emery recently announced that Arsenal have no funds to spend this month and will instead by dipping their toes in the loan market.

According to the Daily Mail Emery wants Arsenal to part company with Ozil to free up funds for new recruits.

The Spaniard sees the midfielder as dispensable and thinks his whopping £350,000-a-week wages could be better spent elsewhere.

Ozil has already spoken this month to rule out a transfer away. He also has no intention of going out on loan.

But on Monday he took to Twitter to provide an update to his many followers and posted a picture of himself working out at Arsenal’s training ground.

Alongside the image he wrote: “No matter what… put in the work.”

Responding positively, one Arsenal fan replied: “Come on Ozil… you can prove Emery wrong by playing your best.”

While another added: “Can’t wait to see you back on the pitch.”
