Paris Olympics: Cycling Federation President urges Ukpeseraye to compete well

The President, Cycling Federation of Nigeria (CFN), Giandomenico Massari, has urged Ese Ukpeseraye, Nigeria’s cyclist at the ongoing Olympics in Paris to be calm and campaign for honours as the cycling event gets underway tomorrow, August 4.

Ukpeseraye, is Nigeria’s first-ever cyclist to compete in both track and road races at the Olympics. Sporting Tribune reports that it is also the first time ever that Nigeria will be competing at cycling at the global sports fiesta.

Ukpeseraye, Nigeria’s sole athlete qualified for all three cycling events namely: road race (August 4), track (August 7) and individual sprint (August 9).

Massari, in a statement wished Ukpeseraye the best of luck advising her to remain calm and focused.

Ukpeseraye, prior the Olympics, has undergone a one-year team training course in Spain and is looking forward to put Nigeria on the medals table.

The 2024 Summer Olympic Games which commenced on Friday, July 26 will run till Sunday, August 11 in France, with Paris as the main host city and additional events in 16 other cities across Metropolitan France, plus one subsite in Tahiti.
