Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro, has expressed joy that Nigeria will be facing his country of birth in a friendly.
Three-time African champions, the Super Eagles are scheduled to face the Selecao of Portugal in a friendly on November 17 at the Estádio José Alvalade.
Peseiro revealed that he’s happy to lead Nigeria against Portugal and he hopes to have a good outing in the encounter.
“It’s my country until then we will be observing our players. I am happy to play against Portugal and I wish to do a good job there.
“But until then, I await the return of the players who are out injured, some are not fit while some are not  performing at the highest level, I wish that they get in top gear,” he told NFF TV.
Speaking on the selection of players, the former FC Porto sweet merchant stated that he makes sure that he hands call ups to the best players of Nigeria descent.
“I choose the best of the best, we have many players. It’s my job to choose the best players.
“I hope we don’t have too many injuries, although it can happen.”
Nigeria and Portugal have never played against each other at senior level, but they have met three times at the FIFA U20 World Cup, with the Portuguese winning all the encounters
