The Nigeria national football team, Super Eagles, departed Lagos on Wednesday to take part in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations holding in Cote d’Ivoire.
Members of the team were dressed in native attires, putting on a white kaftan with green caps, showcasing Nigeria’s national colours.
Recall Tribune Online reported that the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Tuesday, urged the Super Eagles to win the AFCON, stating that the triumph of the Eagles would bring succour to the citizens.
The governor gave the charge when he hosted the team to a special dinner at the Lagos House, Marina, before the team’s departure to Cote d’Ivoire for the AFCON tournament, which is slated to commence on Saturday, January 13.
