‘Physically oustanding, have flexibilty’, South Korea coach hails Flying Eagles ahead of QF clash

South Korea’s U20 coach, Kim Eun-jung, has expressed high praise for Nigeria’s Flying Eagles in anticipation of their upcoming quarterfinal clash on Sunday night.

Recognizing the formidable challenge ahead, the Asian coach emphasized the importance of thorough preparation to have a chance of defeating the Nigerian side.

Notably, the Korean coach observed that the Flying Eagles exhibit exceptional physical prowess across all positions, adding to the task at hand.

South Korea earned their spot in the quarterfinals by securing a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Ecuador on Thursday. This triumph sets the stage for an exciting encounter with Nigeria in the ongoing FIFA U20 World Cup held in Argentina. Meanwhile, the Flying Eagles secured their place in the next stage by impressively defeating the host nation Argentina 2-0, showcasing their skill and determination.

Addressing his post-match press conference ahead of the game, Eun-jung stated, “When I watched the game against Argentina yesterday, the Nigerian team seemed to be very well prepared.  Players in all positions are physically outstanding and have flexibility. We will do the analysis properly.

“We will prepare hard for the match against Nigeria, so please support us from afar. As an Asian team, Korea is the only team that maintains its pride, so I will prepare well for the next game and produce good results with a sense of responsibility and pride as an Asian representative.”

The Flying Eagles will lock horns with South Korea at the Estadio Único Madre de Ciudades, Santiago del Estero on Sunday evening.
