Pichichi Trophy race heats up as Benzema, Lewandowski battle it out

As the 2022/23 LaLiga Santander season nears its end, the battle for the Pichichi Trophy has intensified with Karim Benzema making a comeback in the goalscoring race against long-time leader Robert Lewandowski, who now faces stiff competition.

Robert Lewandowski scored his 19th LaLiga goal this season against Real Betis, marking a return to form after a period of poor performance. He scored in consecutive games against Rayo and Betis, thereby regaining some momentum.

On the other hand, Benzema has scored two hat-tricks in his recent matches, one against Real Valladolid and the other against Rubi’s team on Matchday 32 at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu to take his LaLiga tally up to 17 for the season.

With the competition between Lewandowski and the French forward heating up in the final weeks of the season, the race for the Pichichi Trophy has become a direct competition between the two.

With six more Matchdays to go, who do you think will win the Pichichi Trophy?
