Immediate past president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, has praised the proactiveness and leadership qualities of the Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh.
Pinnick, who described Enoh as the man the nation’s sports industry has long yearned for, said he (the minister) has demonstrated dexterity and visionary leadership since his assumption of office some months ago. The former NFF boss lauded Enoh’s calm approach to leadership and his constant pursuit of a peaceful resolution to all types of quagmires in the sports sector.
“God has blessed us with a minister that is so exceptional. He talks less and acts more. In the background he will call Pinnick, call Ibrahim Gusau, always trying to get the solutions to issues. The Honourable Minister is one of the best things to have happened to us in Nigeria.
“When the Minister came on board, some people were raising eyebrows, but when he started showing his good deeds, things became smoother. During my first engagement with him in Uyo, he paid a listening ear, he engaged the NFF president and other stakeholders quietly and today, the result has been 100% support for the NFF,” Pinnick stated.
Pinnick, who is the Vice President of the AFCON organising committee, said Nigerian football is currently going through a good period because of the harmonious relationship between the Football Federation and the Sports Ministry which has paved the way for the prioritisation of national interests above primordial sentiments.
