Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic have been accused of ignoring their Manchester United team-mates on the pitch.
Jose Mourinho’s side are currently sixth in the Premier League having failed to hold out for a victory against Stoke City before the international break.
United’s performances have been inconsistent so far this season, and former Arsenal midfielder Merson believes Mourinho’s men will struggle to secure a Champions League place.
‘Manchester United are going to struggle to finish in the top four at the rate they’re going,’ Merson wrote in his column for the Daily Star.
‘I’m not sure they are Champions League material.
‘They should have blown Stoke away in the first 20 minutes last Sunday. But after that I’m not sure they looked like scoring.
‘United have problems. Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba just seem to look for each other all the time and ignore everyone else.’
