Paul Pogba is in a league of his own in terms of assists this season – no one has made more than the Manchester United star across the major European leagues.
The Frenchman set up both Antonio Valencia and Anthony Martial for two first-half goals in a 3-0 win over Stoke on Monday night.
The result helped United close the gap on leaders Manchester City to 12 points and confirmed Pogba’s outstanding form in his second season since returning to England.
The 24-year-old has now registered the most assists in the fewest games from the top five leagues in Europe.
His vital contributions at Old Trafford helped him move to nine from just 13 games, level with Leroy Sane and Kevin De Bruyne, who have played far more games.
The Manchester City stars have both made nine league assists, but in 21 and 23 games respectively in this campaign.
He tops the leaderboard ahead of Neymar by just one game, with Augsburg left-back Philipp Max and Celta Vigo winger Pione Sisto trailing behind.
Top of the assists
Paul Pogba – 9 in 13 games
Neymar – 9 in 14 games
Philipp Max – 9 in 18 games
Pione Sisto – 9 in 19 games
Leroy Sane – 9 in 21 games.
