Police defuse four bombs before PSG-Bordeaux clash

According to ‘Le Parisien’, there was an attempted terrorist attack in the area surrounding the Parc des Princes. Luckily, it was thwarted before it posed any threat to the public.

France is continuing its fight against terrorism which has terrorized the country over the past few years. The latest incident occurred before the PSG-Bordeaux match last Saturday.

French police arrested five people, including one know Islamist extremist, who were attempting an attack with various explosive devices in the build up to the match taking place at the Parc des Princes.

According to the aforementioned source, the device, which was found near the stadium by a member of the public, consisted of four gas canisters covered in petrol and was going to be deployed from a distance with a remote control, which was later found in a building located less than one kilometre from the stadium.
