The Barclays Manager of the Month award for April nominees have been announced by the Premier League.
Five bosses, namely Unai Emery, Pep Guardiola, Roy Hodgson, Eddie Howe, and Gary O’Neil, have been shortlisted for the award due to their teams’ favorable performances in the past four weeks.
Emery, the manager of Aston Villa, is the frontrunner for the accolade due to the team’s five victories and one draw before losing to Manchester United.

Guardiola’s Manchester City has taken the lead in the title race, with five wins from five league games, while Hodgson’s Crystal Palace has played fantastic football and achieved four wins out of six games to stay clear of the relegation zone.
Howe’s Newcastle has gained 18 points out of 21 possible, ensuring a place in the Champions League. Finally, O’Neil has led Bournemouth away from relegation worries and into a comfortable mid-table position.
Despite winning the award four times this season, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta did not make it to the shortlist as his team only secured six points from five April games.
