‘Premier League on Onyekuru’s mind’

Gent striker Mamadou Sylla has disclosed that former strike partner Henry Onyekuru wants Everton return quickly.

Last season, Onyekuru netted 22 goals for Eupen in the Belgian topflight which swayed the Toffees for his signature in the summer but was immediately loaned out to Anderlecht due to work permit issues.

And the Senegalese striker who worked in tandem with the Nigerian in the Pandas’ attack last campaign said although the 20-year-old has been churning out impressive performances.

“Henry has many qualities, which he has already shown in his first campaign in the first division,” Sylla told DH.

“At Anderlecht, his playing time and his ability to adapt to their games do not surprise me.

“A club and a level where he will still be able to progress, with the goal he has in mind to join Everton quickly to discover the Premier League.”
