Prison without bail for former Barca president Rosell

AFTER hearing Sandro Rosell’s two-hour statement, judge Carmen Lamela has sentenced the former Barcelona president to prison without bail.

At midday on Thursday, the prosecutors requested a jail sentence without bail for ex-Barcelona president Sandro Rosell, amid accusations of laundering 15 million euros.

The judge in charge of the case, Carmen Lamela, delivered jail sentences for Rosell and his business partner Joan Besoli, having heard their respective testimonies on the money-laundering operation uncovered with FBI assistance.

Judge Lamela has decreed a prison sentence without bail with Rosell deemed a potential flight-risk, as well as the added danger of destruction of evidence.
