PSG plan spectacular Neymar unveiling

French giants PSG are reportedly planning a huge unveiling for Brazilian star Neymar, with the classic image of the player holding a shirt up at the training ground not likely to cut it on this occasion.

PSG’s standard procedure with new signings is to present them at the club’s stadium, the Parc des Princes, however, radio station ‘Europe 1′ today reported that the club have contacted the relevant authorities about unveiling the player in front of one of Paris’ iconic monuments.

The report claimed that the powers that be in the French capital have okayed the plans, meaning that the only hitch at the moment is the waiting for the Samba star to put pen to paper.

Police patrols have already been planned in order to guarantee the security of the unveiling, which could take place in the ‘Place du Trocadero’ in fron of the Eiffel Tower according to the report.

It seems then that PSG want to draw as much attention to the deal as possible, which shouldn’t be hard, given that it will be the most expensive transfer in footballing history.

The €222m fee will more than double the current record, set when Paul Pogba returned to Manchester United from Juventus last summer.

French publication ‘L’Equipe’ reports that the deal is 60% done, promising, but a lot can go wrong in 40%.

Nevertheless, the Qatari press reports that Neymar will stop off in Doha on the way back from his trip to China in order to undergo a medical and to sign on the dotted line.
