N’Golo Kante in action for Chelsea
Paris Saint-Germain have not given up hope of signing Chelsea star N’Golo Kante and are willing to top the Blues’ contract offer of £290,000-a-week to the Frenchman.
The Blues have offered to make Kante the highest paid player in the club’s history and want him to sign a new five-year deal. Kante is just two years into his deal at Stamford Bridge but Chelsea are aware of interest from PSG and want to make it crystal clear to the midfielder how much he is valued. The World Cup winner has established himself as one of the finest midfielders in the world during his three years in England and PSG are willing to break the bank to sign him.
Kante is open to signing a new deal at Chelsea but PSG are willing to increase the Blues’ offer and hand him over £300,000-a-week to move to Paris. There’s just nine days left of the transfer window for Premier League clubs and Chelsea are highly unlikely to consider an offer for Kante at this stage.
However, Thibaut Courtois looks likely to leave as the Belgian threatens to walk away from the club for free next summer if he’s not granted his move to Real Madrid. Chelsea remain confident of keeping Eden Hazard away from the clutches of Real Madrid given the Belgian has two years to run on his existing deal. Real Madrid are also keen on utilising their current squad, meaning Isco and Gareth Bale are set for greater roles next term.
