Steve McClaren
Queens Park Rangers have appointed former Steve McClaren as their new manager on a two-year deal.
The former England manager will succeed Ian Holloway, whom QPR parted company with last week following his second spell at the club and a 16th placed finish.
McClaren, who worked at Loftus Road as a coach under Harry Redknapp in 2013, has been in work as a manager since his second stint at Derby came to an end in March 2017.
Since his dismissal at Pride Park, having been unable to lead the club out of the Championship, the 57-year-old had a short spell as a consultant for Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel.
Having praised Holloway for sustaining the club on a small budget, there seems to be a sense that it’s time for QPR to press on and aim for Premier League promotion once more, although McClaren comes in with no experience of winning a Championship promotion race.
